稀世珍釀中提到的甜酒之王~是法國最頂級歷史也是最悠久的非Ch. D’Yquem莫屬. 十四世紀前曾屬於英國國王, 十四世紀之後屬於Bordeaux市長家族Roger de Sauvage的產業,直到1785年繼承獨生女約瑟芬嫁給Ch. Fargue的園主,Comte de Lur-Saluces伯爵,Lur-Saluces家族入主Ch. D’Yquem已有200年歷史,1996年十一月大部分股東將55%股權以一億三百萬美金賣給LVMH團,,Lur-Saluces家族仍持有35%股權.目前由CH. Cheval Blanc 釀酒師 Pierre Lurton經營管理其事宜.

Château d'Yquem is a Premier Cru Supérieur wine from the Sauternes region in the southern part of the Bordeaux. Château d'Yquem wines are characterized by their complexity, concentration and sweetness created by the vineyard’s susceptibility to botrytis, also known as the "noble rot". Chateau d’Yquem vineyard history dates back to the middle ages when the estate actually belonged to the King of England. It was not until 1453 that southwest France was once again under French rule and a century and a half later that Chateau d’Yquem was acquired by Jacques Sauvage. The site has been home to a vineyard since 1711 when the estate became fully owned by Léon de Sauvage d'Yquem.
Château d'Yquem was the only Sauternes given the Premier Cru Supérieur designation in the Bordeaux Wine Official Classification of 1855 according to our Chateau d’Yquem reviews. The vineyard is about 310 acres yet only 65,000 bottles are produced per year on average. If there is a very poor vintage, the entire crop is deemed unfit to bear the d’Yquem name and the wine is not produced. The wine itself is a blend of Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc and is consistently one of the best and most expensive wines in the world.
