西班牙教父 - ÁLVARO PALACIOS
1989年五位年輕的釀酒師合組一個合作社，共用一個釀酒廠釀酒，並以"Clos"名稱來命名他們的品項。由於他們的努力，使得Priorat空前地獲得國際間的好評，售價也直追五大酒莊。
其中，受人矚目的釀酒師Alvaro Palacios ，在Priorat(琵歐拉)產區釀製Terrasses，它分別於法國橡木桶與美國橡木桶中陳年約12個月，葡萄樹齡18~100年(65%以老藤葡萄為主)，未過濾裝瓶而成，呈現深紫紅色，成熟的黑色莓果、紅醋栗、礦石、甘草的芳香怡人，酒體細緻圓潤，口感呈現黑色水果、烤過的梅子、黑色巧克力、煙草的多種層次的味道但又十分均衡，尾韻攸長。
When Álvaro adds the ancient spelling ‘ Velles Vinyes’ to his wine, we can have no fear that the vines in question are anything other than old… indeed some of them in this case are over 100 years old. The Cariñena is known locally as Samsó and makes up 60% of the wine, the balance coming from Garnacha (30%) with a little Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah to complete the picture. An impressive concentration of fruit with real elegance and weight; plum, earth and hints of graphite, with balanced acidity and very fine tannins. The wine has then been bottled unfiltered… all in all Natural Selection at its best.

Álvaro Palacios, whose family owns the prestigious Rioja Bodega, Palacios Remondo, spent two years at Château Pétrus before setting up on his own in Priorat in 1989. From the very beginning, he set out to produce world-class wines by using fruit from extremely low-yielding old vines and by applying ultramodern winemaking techniques. The cream of the crop is the single vineyard wine L'Ermita, which was first produced in 1993. Arguably the most individual red wine in Spain, it is certainly now the most expensive.

A light texture carries racy, intense flavors in this expressive red, with bright cherry, licorice, mineral, garrigue and spice notes mingling over light tannins and buoyed by lively acidity. Balanced, focused and elegant, with a lingering finish. Drink now through 2021. 12,000 cases made. –TM
