Faiveley本業是生產法國高鐵 TGV 車門的大型企業，依照大企業嚴謹的經營模式，以及不計成本的方式來投資葡萄園，像這樣的酒廠在勃根地幾乎是絶無僅有的，創立於 1825 年的 Faiveley 是勃根地 Nuits St Georges 最具代表性酒商，目前擁有 120 公頃的葡萄園，其中還包含了10公頃的特級葡萄園和20 個一級葡萄園 Chambertin Clos de Beze、Musigny、Monopole 獨佔葡萄園 Corton Clos des Cortons 頂級佳釀，白酒則以 Corton Charlemagne最為出名，與 Louis Latour 和 Bonneau du Martray 共同被評為勃根地最傑出的高登查理曼白酒。

 現任酒莊由第七代 Erwan Faiveley接掌管理、並再2004 重金聘請Bouchard Pere & Fils 釀酒總管 Bernard Hervet 加入Faiveley的團隊，創造出不同以往的全新風格。

Producer note:

François Faiveley characterized the 2002 vintage "as a very pretty millésime but not a great one as it certainly will not be as long-lived as 2001 but one that should give much pleasure over the next 5 to perhaps 15 years. I prefer the purity of 2001 though the exuberant fruit of 2002 is seductive in its own fashion. The malos were extremely long and as such, we have left the wines on their lees during the entire élevageperiod. We'll probably bottle a bit earlier than usual as well because the wines are fruit forward and it appears that there is little additional benefit to be had by leaving them in barrel any longer." As a general comment, I agree with Faiveley's assessment of his 2002s vis-à-vis his 2001s; on an overall basis, the 2001s are a bit stronger though there are several 2002s, particularly in their Gevrey portfolio that are also extremely attractive wines. Faiveley has also been acquisitive as of late, buying in the Gevrey monopoleIssarts (they have long had a contract for the fruit), the Beaune 1er "Clos de L'Ecu" (first vintage will be 2003) as well as the Domaine Chantin, where they had also been managing the vines and this acquisition gives them ownership of several prime parcels in Nuits St. Georges. (Wilson-Daniels, St. Helena, CA; there are many sources in the UK, among them Morris & Verdin, John Armit Wines, Berry Brothers & Rudd, Howard Ripley, The Wine Society and Haynes, Hanson & Clark).

Tasting note:

 Medium ripe fruit that has an underlying vegetal note to it leads to earthy, intense, rustic and very frank old-style Nuits flavors with a sweet but structured finish. This will  require some patience for it to round out as it's fairly rough going today yet there is plenty of balancing sap for the future.
